Hon. Chris Penk, New Zealand’s Housing Minister, recently visited Transbuild Commercial’s operations in Drury.
With a tour of our innovative factory we demonstrated to the Minister how our offsite construction model supports large-scale, time-sensitive commercial projects.
With all stages of construction – from structural framing to quality assurance – taking place under one roof, the Minister witnessed our streamlined approach to modular delivery that continues to benefit organisations across the North Island.
The Minister shared his observations via social media, stating:
“@transbuildnewzealand does everything on-site in Drury (construction, inspections, quality checks, the works) then moves the finished home to the property. Regional consenting rules can be tricky, but the Government is working on solutions to help enable businesses like this and boost housing supply.”
We value the opportunity to be involved in this important discussion and are optimistic about how such changes could impact delivery timelines for our commercial partners.
Whether it’s classrooms, community housing, retirement units, or site offices, Transbuild Commercial delivers transportable, fixed-cost, turnkey buildings in just 8 weeks. Our commercial clients appreciate the speed, scale, and reliability we bring to every project.
With consenting pathways evolving and a strong focus on future-focused building outcomes, we’re committed to building cleverly and delivering fast, dependable results for our clients and the communities they serve.
We extend our thanks to Minister Penk and his team for engaging directly with our business and taking the time to understand how offsite construction can help meet the needs of a growing Aotearoa.
